Vitamin A was first discovered back in 1912, by a Polish biochemist named Casimir Funk. He came up with the word vitamine, which was later given the name vitamin. Deficiency in vitamin D is linked to a whole host of health problems: cancer, multiple sclerosis, diabetes, osteoporosis, heart disease, muscle weakness to name a few.
